excellent location but minor room details could improve
The large and comfortable room provided a pleasant stay. The shower room featured a huge shower, which was quite enjoyable after a long day of cycling.
Some amenities in the room could use attention to detail.

The carvery experience was enjoyable, with a great variety of perfectly cooked meats and fresh vegetables. Staff were friendly and attentive. I found some dishes a bit underwhelming and the dessert didn't meet expectations. it’s a lovely venue for a hearty meal.

the george carvery and hotel is amazin! we had a super comfy double room and the bed was just perfect. dave at the reception was so friendly and helped us feel right at home. lots of tea and coffee in the room which is a sweet bonus. the carvery food was delicious too, big slices of meat and fresh veggies! can't wait to come back!
the shower took a bit long to heat up and the bathroom was kinda small. had issues with check-in time too.

stayed at the george for one night. the reception was first class, making me feel right at home. my double or twin room was more than adequate, complete with tea/coffee and biscuits. the location is great, especially if you're interested in the local races. overall, excellent value for money!

Had a blast with my friends during our stay here! We visited Lightwater Valley Theme Park and also checked out the stunning Fountains Abbey. The place was spacious, and we loved the cozy atmosphere. For future guests, the location makes it super easy to explore the area and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
One downside was the noise from nearby roads at night, which disrupted our sleep occasionally.

The room was really spacious and clean, which was a nice surprise. The bed was massive, and there was a good supply of tea and coffee. I appreciated the biscuits in the hospitality tray. Plus, the heating was great for a cozy feel. I couldn't really fault it. it was very comfortable and nicely furnished.

Great carvery experience!
Had a one-night stay and the room was super clean and spacious. The shower was impressive, looked brand new! We ate in the carvery where the staff were super friendly. Just a heads up, the menu was a bit limited, but the beef I had was great. Perfect spot for a stopover!

High-quality carvery, one of the best I've had. The late check-in time was inconvenient. Good ambiance for family gatherings.

Family with children will love this place
From the moment we walked in, it was like we were welcomed into a family. The Yorkshire pudding at the carvery was absolutely divine and the desserts were the perfect sweet ending we didn't know we needed.
It wasn’t the most economical choice but you get what you pay for.
